Learning to drive

You might be a total beginner to driving and never even sat behind a steering wheel before. We understand that the first time can be daunting, so here at New Driver we’ll give you the first lesson for just £10. Our calm and patient instructors will go at your pace, and give you the confidence to begin your journey to freedom.

Change of instructor

Sometimes you just don’t gel with an instructor. If you’re already learning to drive, but feel you need a change of driving instructor, New Driver is the place for you. Our instructors are selected for their professionalism and experience. They’ll guide you through your driving issues and give you the best chance to finally pass your driving test.

Intensive driving courses

How much are driving lessons?

With New Driver your first lesson is just £10. Following that, there are no obligations or tie-ins, you just pay as you go. Prices for the second lesson and beyond start at £25 per lesson.

How many driving lessons will I need to pass my test?

This all depends on you. Like any skill, driving comes easier to some people than other. One person may need ten lessons and another person might need thirty.
The important thing is that our instructor will go at your pace – making sure you learn the skills required to not only pass the test, but also drive safely on the roads afterwards

Do I need to get my provisional licence before starting lessons?

Yes you’ll need to get your provisional licence to start driving lessons and you’ll need to bring it with you to your first lesson. You can apply for your provisional licence online at GOV.UK

Do I need insurance to start driving lessons?

No our instructors are fully insured and this covers you while learning.
